Little Stars

This month in Little Stars we have been celebrating Easter, we hid the different animals in the egg shells to develop our fine motor skills and our recognition of the different animals. During this activity we also practised the different animal noises we could make and practiced good turn taking with our friends. The children also enjoyed a different Easter tuff tray where we had little chicks in nests, carrots, Easter foam cut outs, and eggs; this helped them explore the different textures and we enjoyed putting the chicks in the nests and feeding the rabbits the carrots. During the last month we have also enjoyed getting creative! We did Lego printing onto Easter eggs, paint pads to make butterflies, we made bunnies with the sponge dabbers, decorated eggs with the décor pens, sticking with different textures, and painting bunnies too! This helps develop fine motor skills and colour recognition. The children have also been busy developing their pincer grip with the playdough; we have been rolling, cutting, pulling, and pinching. The children really love playdough and engage in this activity well. As the warmer weather is coming, we have been spending more time outside in the garden! We have had the sand out, scooping and pouring it, feeling it with our hands, and taking turns to share the scoops. We have also been taking a few trips to the big garden! Super Stars have been very kind and looked after us very well when we went into the big garden together, both rooms enjoyed interacting with each other, going through the tunnel, running around the track, and practising climbing across the bridge. This activity helps us to develop our gross motor skills, our social skills, and our communication skills.
