Shining Stars
This month in Shining Stars we have enjoyed exploring the garden, developing our motor skills, doing running races and playing with the bikes, scooters, and cars. We have loved using our imagination to build cars and other vehicles using the loose parts. We have also enjoyed getting creative with the paints and other materials to make handprint butterflies, love bugs, and other Valentine’s Day crafts for our display. Shining Stars also had fun with playdough, using our fine motor skills to press down on the cutters in order to cut out the different shapes. We have also been developing our knowledge of numbers and letters using the counting cows and alphabet alligators matching games. To develop our pencil control, we have been practicing tracing over the top of our names using the pincer grasp. We have also been learning about ‘Under the Sea’ and all the different animals that live in the sea; we had a tuff tray with different numbered fish on it with lots of other sea creatures and we matched the number of sea creatures to the right numbered fish. We are now introducing our new theme of ‘Outer Space’ and we have loved getting messy painting our cardboard rocket painted sparkly silver!
