SHINING STARS
We have had a very busy month in Shining Stars! We have planted lots of bulbs to enhance our growing topic, these will hopefully be showing themselves soon. This month our role play area has been a dentist! The children have had been very busy, making appointments, taking money, and of course checking each other’s teeth as well as the dolls and even the cuddly toys! We discussed as a group the importance of dental hygiene and which colour toothbrush we have at home. We also celebrated Diwali and listened to a Diwali story and decorated Diya’s (lamps). We’ve had a creative time, making crabs for our contribution to the Christmas tree we are entering in the Christmas tree competition in the Bidford church (9th-10th December) We’ve also made a good start on our Christmas bits and pieces: painting, fingerpainting, gluing and sticking etc. This month we’ve introduced a Wednesday ‘Show and Tell’ box, for the children to bring in items from home to show their friends and talk about; the children are all gaining in confidence and have a sense of pride whilst they talk about their things.
