This month in Little Stars we have been very busy. We have been learning about lots of different types of animals (eg. farm animals, under the sea animals, insects), learning what they are called and also what sounds they make. For example, we have explored the farm small world toys, we sang songs such as ‘old MacDonald had a farm’, we rescued insects from the shredded paper, we painted under the sea pictures and we had a tuff tray filled with water and different under the sea animals. We have also created an ice cream parlour in our home corner which the children have been enjoying, developing their imagination and social skills, encouraging them to interact with each other as they play. The children have been developing their gross motor skills by playing outside and on the soft play, as well as their fine motor control and hand eye coordination with playdough.
