Super Stars

Over the past month we have been getting stuck into activities and all things spooky and autumnal for Autumn, Halloween and Bonfire Night. We cut off our pumpkin we had grown from a seed and painted it to develop our fine motor skills, using a range of different materials. We have also been gutting other pumpkins and exploring textures whilst scooping, pulling and squeezing the pulp out of the pumpkin. During this we spoke about the colours, and differences such as wet or dry, hard or soft, cold or hot, etc. We have also been working really hard on our number and letter recognition, practising our phonics and doing 1:1 activities with flash cards. We have enjoyed making up our own stories using picture cards to develop our imagination and language. As we are doing some work developing our writing skills, we have done lots to develop our strength and fine motor skills so we are more confident when holding a pencil and mark making. These include playdough and threading.
