Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

The EYFS is made up of a Statutory Framework for the Early Years, which sets the standards for Learning, Development and care for Children from Birth to Five years of age.

The aim is to ensure that every child is given the opportunity to learn through high quality play experiences.

Play is vital for children. It helps them to understand the world around them and to develop socially and emotionally.

It is through play that children learn, develop at their own pace and have fun with their peers who understand, support, guide and care about them.
